"Humans need food," Sesshoumaru murmured, and another bit of rabbit found its way onto her plate.

"What about youkai?" she demanded crisply.

"Youkai eat more during courtship," he replied loftily, as if this behavior was superior.

Selecting a tender strip of meat from her over-full plate, she turned to the inu-youkai who was sitting just a shade too close and pushed it into his mouth..."You'd best keep your strength up, then," she said breezily.

...Sesshoumaru chewed slowly, his eyes never leaving her face, and once he swallowed, he gave her a small, anticipatory smirk...
